"Infusing cultural painting into design"
Located in Ubud, this gallery aims to integrate the renowned "Ubud Style Painting" culture of the area into its design. The primary goal is to preserve and revitalize the tradition of Ubud Style Painting, as the current painters are all elderly.
Painting-Building Composition
In Ubud Style Painting, there is a recurring composition featuring a focal point as the foreground, typically represented by an animal like the Jalak Bali Bird, with a green vegetation background. Similarly, this gallery building design includes a main striking focal point surrounded by trees and vegetation.
Jalak Bali Building Mass
We drew inspiration from the elegant crest on the head of the Jalak Bali bird to incorporate a similar pointed 1-massing shape into the main building's design. This distinctive roof design, known as "atap modern gaya Bali," is a popular feature.
